- Abu-Lughod is writing for the European and United States audience because she says in her text “What images do we, in the United States or Europe, have of Muslim women, or women from the region known as the Middle East?”.
- I would say she is writing in an essay genre because it is a very long piece.
- Abu-Lughod’s use of “we”, “us”, and “them” really makes the division between the two cultures stand out more. She is not trying to make us think that American’s are just like Muslims but that we are very different.
- I believe that Abu-Lughod is in some sense more credible than Haydar. She elaborates much more on each of her topics so that the audience can completely understand her point of view and view things from her perspectiv
